I love including multiplication games for 3rd grade in my lesson plans throughout the school year! I mean – kids and games? You can’t lose! There are so many different ways to practice multiplication beyond the usual flashcards routine. One of my favorites is Multiplication Game Show for 3rd Grade. It’s such a great whole class activity that utilizes a fun game format, and it’s paperless! Saves you planning time and ink!

What I love is that this review is not just multiplication facts. It gives students a comprehensive look at the different multiplication problem-solving strategies.
How the Multiplication Game Show Works
If you are not familiar with Jeopardy-style games, here’s a quick overview. The board is comprised of 5 categories with 5 questions in each. The questions are given a value of 100 – 500 points. Students can choose any category or point value, and the goal is to have the most points by the end of the game. (when all of the questions have been asked)
Table of Contents
Multiplication Game Show Category 1 – Factors & Products
The questions in this category use the terms factors and products to ask students to solve multiplication facts. It’s a good starting place in the game and will help them warm up for more difficult content in the other categories!

Multiplication Game Show Category 2 – Arrays
Students will match arrays to multiplication equations in this category. The questions get progressively more difficult as they are asked to decide between two or three arrays that match the multiplication equation.

Multiplication Game Show Category 3 – Missing Numbers
This category brings in algebraic equations that include missing factors. This one is tough for 3rd graders – but an important skill they need!

Multiplication Game Show Category 4 – Related Facts
One of the important skills we teach with multiplication is the Commutative Property of Multiplication, and this category will have students using it! The questions range from choosing a fact out of 4 possibilities to naming a related fact.

Multiplication Game Show Category 5 – Word Problems
Finally, students will have the opportunity to solve multiplication word problems in this last category.

The absolute best part of this Multiplication Game Show for 3rd grade is you don’t have to do any prep work! It’s a simple PowerPoint game you use in presentation mode.
Set up 3 teams of students and track their points on the Scoreboard page! Three navigation buttons make it easy to play this game:
- Answer – takes you to the answer slide
- Return – takes you back to the Jeopardy board
- Calculator – takes you to the Scoreboard
